Wooden beams support this home, they are from the floor to ceiling represented throughout the max apartment. The wood element serves as a pillar from which your growth can branch out.

My stay in these beautifully curated historic apartments can be summed up as: the world moves fast, but I don't have to. Cozy mornings at "Max Haus" brought a smile to my face.

Staying at Max Apartments embodied slow living and travel, encouraging mindful exploration. Their sustainable, heart-centered design made my month-long stay truly inspiring. The proximity to charming shops, bakeries, and restaurants kept me immersed in Sibiu's beauty.

Living next to a bakery in Sibiu’s city center made my mornings special. Each day, I picked up a fresh loaf from @5painisi2pesti, dropped it home to keep warm, then wandered the colorful streets for creative inspiration. Breakfast was simple yet perfect: warm sourdough with butter, a touch of homemade jam, and coffee. It’s these small, cherished moments I’m most grateful for.

The Max Haus grounded me, offering a sense of safety and calm amidst any environment. Each room's minimalist charm created a peaceful retreat in the heart of Sibiu, perfect for cooking with friends or sharing laughter over wine.

A place to dream, create, dance, and simply be—I felt safe, free, and independent here. My stay will always be remembered as a space I once called "home," even briefly. It taught me to cherish my own company and, most importantly, to love becoming "my own home.

The Max Haus is the perfect spot for nomads looking to really immerse themselves in the culture of Sibiu. While the Max apartments are mostly rented short term they offer an affordable long term rental option in a place that truly feels like home. Sibiu is small enough that it can be seen in a weekend however it requires more time to fully be felt. More time in Sibiu, a small culture capital in the heart of Transylvania means a plethora of potential oppourtunities. While it is not exactly a digital nomad hub, the community is very open to foreigners. Something about Sibiu locals makes them interested in whatever comes from outside of Sibiu. Truly faces become familiar here and soon enough a few trips to a local coffee shop will mean that you will befriend someone there.

Most locals speak English as a second language, so communication is easy. Being open with them is appreciated and often reciprocated. They’re eager to help and share fascinating stories, especially about life during the communist era and the transition to modern society. I highly recommend connecting with them!

I’ve visited Sibiu almost every summer since I can remember, and it’s been incredible to watch its growth. This small city has become a creative hub, with its two squares drawing everyone inward, filling hearts as it connects people to its vibrant core.
